Member Retention

Member Retention

Keep Our Members

Retention of members in our Clubs is vital.

For each member we lose through resignation is one we have to replace. They are a person who loses the opportunity to contribute through Rotary Service. Their loss makes us less effective as an organisation.

As a Rotarian, you need to pay attention to the involvement and membership welfare of each of your fellow Rotarians. Are they participating in Club activities and projects? Are they attending Club meetings; and arriving on time and staying to the end? Are they keen to be involved and looking for roles in your Club or in the District? Things like this could be indicators of their membership welfare.

Strategies

This section of the website will examine a range of strategies and tools to help you retain members in your Club.

We also welcome suggestions of strategies and tools you have found work. Please send them to us.

Here are some strategies to start you thinking:

  • allocate them a specific role or responsibility in the Club
  • allocate them a mentor
  • use an initiation program
